Q: Who are you?
I study chemistry at a university in the UK. I speak fluent English and Russian, but can understand a good bit of French and Latin. I love learning about all sorts of things, and learning in general. It is both a feature and a flaw, sometimes I get distracted and go on tangents easily. Particular areas of interest more generally include pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, computational modelling. I enjoy reading philosophy in my spare time, going on long walks and playing squash.
Q: What do you write about?
Anything I find interesting, or more generally anything that I have had to look into for one reason or another. Ideally I hope to write concise in-depth articles that serve as useful references on particular topics.

Q: Favourite book, movie and music?
For fiction I would choose the collected works of H.P. Lovecraft - I know this is sort of cheating but nothing he wrote was really long enough to be a full book. For non-fiction, Seneca’s On the shortness of life is a must-read for everyone. For poetry my #1 spot goes to “Ithaka” by C.P. Cavafy, but “A Little Learning”, “If” and “Desiderata” are all great.
Favourite movie is hard to say. For something more comedic I would say Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. For something more serious, K-PAX.
Favourite music is too hard to say… I listen and enjoy a very wide range of things and it depends on my mood.

I sometimes get anxious about having my articles under the control of a third party (substack) so I keep an offline archive of them and one day might set up my own website if it comes to it.
