I see a lot of "Never do anything risky", but very rarely "If you are to do the risky thing, here's the safest way to do it". Sometimes the latter can be really important.
Also had similarly bad experiences with the NHS lately - I recently had to go to a hospital while I was barely able to breath, and was told to sit in an ice-cold emergency room for 6 hours with a canula in my hand, that they never ended up taking any readings from.
My actual interaction with the doctor was about 10 minutes long lol
